I should have specified that I want this library for playing piano in SOLO, so I'm much more interested in the playability of the instrument, given that, from what I hear, I already like the sound of VSL Vienna Imperial, I think it will inspire me when playing regardless of the versatility and context. but I was asking specifically for the quality of sampling and scripting that translates in the playability of the instruments. I appreciate your suggestions and I agree with you that even in real pianos there are issues, obviously, concerning tone, tuning, dynamic range etc. it might be Ivory, but I like using them all depending on the context. Thanks for your reply. it might be Ivory, but I like using them all depending on the context. I think Cinesamples' Abby Roads collection sounds neat.

In other situations I like EWQL Pianos and Cinesamples Piano in Blue (for the sound, not the playability). Sometimes you may need to adjust the velocity curve/range of the piano. Then you have the factors of the samples and the sampler programming. Lots of the feel of a sampled instrument will result from the quality and range of your MIDI controller.

Point being, you might want to make some broader considerations. The Beatles' piano parts wouldn't sound "right" except for the upright. A Yamaha C-series sounds better in a country tune than an Steinway.

Plus, some pianos sound better in certain situations. Pianists can't agree on which REAL piano does all of the things you list (release, dynamic range, tone, resonance, etc).
